When a college student takes a shortcut through the woods, he discovers a strange new world, in this Melody of Mana prequel series. Heading home after classes, tech student Justin rolls downhill into the challenge of a lifetime: exotic glowing plants and a luminescent pool of crystal-blue water rebirth him as a helpless child, Elian, in a time before history began. Retaining his adult memories, he must learn a new language and culture, survive, and above all master the light that surrounds him, an exhilarating magic called mana. Through concentrated apprenticeship and calamitous mistakes, Elian grows into a young man just in time to help his people face a dangerous force threatening their small kingdom.
