Alexander North is just a second lieutenant in the Terran Empire's military until the apocalypse spreads throughout the universe on the back of an endless blizzard and everything begins to change. No longer can people use guns; no longer can they use electricity; and no longer can they use fire. Radiation-filled shards flying through the storm mutate any creature they enter, turning them into mindless monsters. Alex is the only infected soldier in his base to not fully turn into a monster.
