The Royal Road serial (102 chapters, Nov 2024-Jun 2025): college student and chess prodigy Devon is swept into the Takings, judged a cursed being by the guiding system, and forced through a tutorial whose overseers secretly farm initiates for experience. Crippled in power gain, he survives on a forgotten profession and pits factions against each other in escalating schemes. Weak-to-strong, anti-hero lead, ~80/20 action-to-scheming split, no romance (volume summary derived from verified Royal Road synopsis and chapter list).
