Ar'Kendrithyst
Arcs
A social worker father and his adult daughter crash land on a desert full of crystal plants and little else. The city walls of Ar'Kendrithyst rise in the distance — more like mountains around a long-dead mega-metropolis. Luckily, the adventuring city of Spur is alive, green, and hospitable. Follow Erick Flatt as he tries to make a nice life with new friends in a new home with his daughter at his side, in a land rarely as kind as its people. (Royal Road blurb; Goodreads series by Arcs.)
Progression: LitRPG progression with quantified blue-box stats and skills ('numbers in blue boxes', Royal Road genre tag: litrpg; described by readers as 'a true LitRPG story'). Protagonist Erick Flatt advances by studying, experimenting with, and creating new magic in a high-fantasy world, with a long weak-to-strong character-growth arc across the completed 9-book Royal Road run. Advancement is central and explicit: System-quantified growth plus original magic creation.
