Hyperion Evergrowing: A Monster Evolution LitRPG
Nilsimus
Leif Vin is mortally wounded and left for dead at the conclusion of a devastating battle. The squad he commanded have either fallen or abandoned the fight, and as dawn breaks, all that remains are the distant cries of the few who yet cling to life. An entity of twisted and blighted wood finds Leif in his final moments and implants his dying body with the parasitic seed of a carnivorous, bloodthirsty plant. Identity shattered, awareness fragmented, levels, classes and skills lost, Leif is reborn as a sapling in the newly formed wilderness that has sprung up in the years following the war. Time heals all wounds, and when the primal need to reclaim his lost humanity uproots him, Leif embarks on an era-spanning journey that will change both him and the world forever. For there is one constant in his new life: Growth.
Progression: Monster Evolution LitRPG progression. The protagonist is reborn as a plant-monster sapling after losing all prior levels, classes and skills. Progression is explicit and central via the LitRPG System: gaining levels, evolving through monster forms, acquiring and upgrading skills/classes, and incremental growth over eras. Described as a monster evolution story where Growth is the constant, with an eventual OP trajectory, kingdom-building and world-building layers, and a subplot about the origin of the System itself. LitRPG numbers-go-up are core to the narrative.
