Skill Eater
Magnus Grey
In the aftermath of an unprecedented magical disaster, Edge wakes up in a monster-infested wilderness, standing on the bottom of the food chain. But he won't be there for long. After finding a unique core known as Skill-Eater, Edge gains the power to steal the skills of monsters, men, and beasts, and a chance to battle his way up to the top. It seems that his luck has finally changed, although he will soon learn that power never comes without a price. An action-packed LitRPG adventure set in a world where artifacts known as Cores let their bearers wield the planet's magic, where Skills grant superhuman abilities and kaiju roam the wilds. Perfect for fans of Solo Leveling, The Primal Hunter, and 1% Lifesteal. (Synopsis: Aethon Books publisher page.)
Progression: Cores are artifacts that let their bearers wield the planet's magic; Skills grant superhuman abilities. Protagonist Edge finds the unique Skill-Eater core, which lets him steal the skills of monsters, men, and beasts. Skills can be eaten, evolved, combined, and ranked up (rare skills, unusual variants, ranking skills up). A post-apocalypse System issues settlement quests (e.g. clear a dungeon to unlock core production); threats are staged (stage-three dungeon boss). Explicit weak-to-strong skill-theft LitRPG progression with dungeon/boss stages and core manufacturing. Verified via Aethon Books publisher pages (JSON-LD + What-to-expect) and Royal Road blurb.
