The Completionist Chronicles
Dakota Krout
Joe Thompson decides to start a new life by uploading his consciousness to the game world of Eternia as a permanent resident after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Choosing the secret and widely despised Ritualist class — a magic banned by the gods — he must hide his abilities while completing every quest, mastering rituals, and pursuing true Completionism. Alongside a small team and the sarcastic AI guide Cal, Joe delves into lost dungeons, guild politics, and a world-spanning hunt for ritual secrets while being actively hunted by those who would assassinate anyone with his power. The series follows Joe's ascent from level-1 Ritualist to master of forbidden magic in an MMO where levels, stats, and class evolution define survival.
Progression: Explicit LitRPG level/class/skill system central to every arc. Protagonist gains the unique Ritualist class (a banned creation/crafting magic class) and advances by gaining XP, leveling up (levels visible via System windows), allocating stat points, completing quests, and unlocking and evolving Rituals and Skills through use. Rituals must be discovered, researched, and practiced in secret; each successful ritual grants skill XP and unlocks higher-tier variants. Progression is quantified via character sheets showing Level, Health/Mana, Attributes (Strength, Intelligence, etc.), Skills, and Ritual ranks. Guild contributions, dungeon clears, and crafting tiers gate access to rarer rituals and class evolutions. The Completionist title itself denotes 100% quest/achievement mastery, with the System rewarding full completion with unique titles, gear, and skill modifications. Levels scale enemy difficulty and political standing in Eternia.
