The Fallen World
Playwars aka Alex S. Weber
Engineer Alexandra Rousseau of the European Federation Star Navy is hurled across hyperspace into a world of magic and monsters, where a millennia-old Order sacrifices her to create a dungeon core — inadvertently giving her the power to fabricate technology long lost to this world. Reborn as the dungeon core Rebirth, Alexandra must hide her sentience from adventurers and the Adventurer Guild while building a dungeon, a town, and a secret techno-magical army to avenge her friends, liberate enslaved peoples, and unravel apocalyptic conspiracies involving the Custodians of the Flame, orbital battle stations, and automata of the Old World.
Progression: Explicit dungeon-core progression is central and continuously foregrounded. Core system: Alexandra as a dungeon core gains power by absorbing mana, expanding floors, fabricating monsters, traps, and tech-hybrid constructs, unlocking new biomes and monster tiers as her dungeon level rises. Dungeon growth is gated by core rank, mana throughput, and control-program restrictions imposed by divine Custodians — which Alexandra gradually hacks via a backup of her own mind. Monster and army progression: dungeon monsters, golems, automata, and later human allies level independently, with tiered evolutions, equipment crafting, and combined-arms tactics (infantry, skyfleet, armada). Territory and polity progression: Rebirth evolves from isolated dungeon to dungeon town to continent-spanning New Republic/Empire, with kingdom-building, alliance management, and war campaigns that mirror personal power scaling. Tech-tree progression: reintroduction of lost Old World technology (fabrication, automation, void-tech) alongside magic, with each breakthrough unlocking new dungeon capabilities. Every arc is structured around dungeon expansion, army building, and breakthrough against Republic, Order, and Custodian power ceilings.
