The Wandering Inn
pirateaba
Erin Solstice, a young woman from Earth, is mysteriously transported to a magical world where people gain Classes and Levels. Finding an abandoned inn in the wilderness near Liscor, she becomes an [Innkeeper], serving pasta, blue fruit juice and chess to Goblins, Drakes, Gnolls and adventurers. Joined by fellow Earth-transport Ryoka Griffin the [City Runner], Erin expands the Wandering Inn into a nexus for intercontinental intrigue, dungeon expeditions, witches, strategists of Baleros and kings of Chandrar, while the Inn itself grows as a character. The web serial exceeds 14 million words and is published as 12+ novel volumes (and ongoing), blending slice-of-life innkeeping with epic fantasy adventure.
Progression: Explicit LitRPG Levels/Classes/Skills system is central and quantified in every chapter. Every person has one or more Classes (e.g., [Innkeeper], [Mage], [Strategist], [Runner], [King]) that gain Levels 1-100 through experience; each Level grants a Skill choice, and every ~10 Levels consolidates Classes into higher-tier forms. Skills are discrete, named abilities ([Immortal Moment], [Boon of the Guest]), spells scale with level and tier (Tier 1-6+), and species/racial levels, fame/reputation and magical items add parallel ladders. Levels directly gate lifespan, political standing, magic power and dungeon danger. Character sheets, level-ups after sleep, and Skill notifications are foregrounded; every arc is structured around breakthroughs, evolutions and tier-ups, making progression the engine of plot, combat and worldbuilding.
