Titan Hoppers
Rob J. Hayes
An epic science-fantasy progression series following Iro, a talentless youth born into a fleet of spacefaring ships that survive by raiding colossal space titans for resources. When his sister dies in a titan explosion, Iro spontaneously manifests a rare talent — the ability to open the Gates of Power — and is thrust into brutal Hopper training where initiates unlock sequential Gates, manifest distinct talents (Mage, Surveyor, Vanguard, Corsair), and climb through Titan depths teeming with monsters, traps and Spires. Perfect for fans of Cradle and Iron Prince, the saga expands across fleet politics, Raider wars and the mystery of the Black Cloaks.
Progression: Gates of Power: sequential gates (First Gate, Second Gate, etc.) that unlock talents and physical/magical advancement. Talent system: innate talents manifest spontaneously (e.g., Mage, Surveyor, Vanguard, Corsair) tied to identity, amplified through intensive training and Titan exposure. Hopper ranks: talentless → trainee → Hopper → Heroes of the Fleet → Fleet Champion, with squad-based advancement. Titan-depth progression: deeper Titan infiltration unlocks stronger monsters, Spires, and Titan-core secrets; each Gate opened increases combat power and talent scope. Explicitly progression-focused per Goodreads reviews and series descriptions ('A progression sci-fantasy perfect for fans of Cradle and Iron Prince').
