Weapons and Wielders
Andrew Rowe
Keras Selyrian — a powerful swordsman from another continent, already a legend for defeating false divinities, thieving sorcerers, and corrupt demigods — travels to Kaldwyn seeking the Six Sacred Swords, the continent's most famous artifacts, forged as the only means to defeat the god beasts. Each sword must be earned by a worthy champion through trials and tournaments, and no single person has ever collected them all. Set in the same universe as the Arcane Ascension novels but years earlier with a different protagonist; the books are interconnected yet readable on their own. (Compiled from verified Goodreads book descriptions.)
Progression: Attunement-based advancement on the continent of Kaldwyn: attunements are magical marks granting distinct powers that grow stronger through use and are graded by a formal Attunement Ranking with lettered ranks subdivided A-E. Keras advances by bonding with and earning the Six Sacred Swords (e.g. Dawnbringer, the Sacred Sword of Light) through sacred-sword tournaments and trials against wielders such as the Emperor of Edria, while pushing the limits of his attunement-enhanced swordsmanship against god beasts and demigods.
