Apocalypse Redux

Jakob H. Greif

Apocalypse Redux is a System Apocalypse LitRPG with time-regression progression, following Isaac Thoma — the last and most powerful survivor of a demon-blighted Earth who is hurled back in time to the day the [System] initialized. Armed with decades of foreknowledge, he has one chance to change humanity's fate: to expose the hidden traps in the System, guide scientific research, and prevent the greed and shortsightedness that rendered humanity extinct. On the day the world becomes quantified, every human receives a summoning guide that spawns monsters for experience, levels, classes, attributes, and skills. The temptation for power is universal, and failure spawns monsters for others to face. Across seven books, Isaac works with a German research team, travels from Europe to global hotspots, confronts city-destroying Elementals, sanity-destroying Dungeons, cults, corrupt superhumans, and malign deities, while racing against [System] Events that escalate power levels until individuals rival militaries and anyone can end the world.

Progression: System Apocalypse + Regressor Time-Loop Progression: The [System] quantifies reality into levels, experience, classes (jobs), attributes, skills, and status screens. Advancement is explicit: humans summon monsters via provided recipes; defeating them grants experience, levels, class evolutions, and attribute/skill growth leading to superhuman tiers. Dungeons manifest with escalating difficulty, including elemental incursions (Lightning Elemental destroys LA), sanity-destroying Dungeons, and global [System] Events. Power scaling is central — early levels are attainable, later levels produce city-destroying entities and individuals who rival militaries; by Book 7 superhumans can end the world. Additional structured advancement: research-driven discovery of hidden System traps and summoning mechanics, dungeon power farming, moon colony and deep-sea exploitation, mana cores/space-aspected dimensional storage, and cult-driven ascension paths. Isaac's regressor foreknowledge provides meta-progression: optimal leveling routes, dungeon strategies, Event predictions, and system research guidance, balanced against System administrators and deities who alter rules to counter him. Rationalist, research-centric LitRPG with crunchy mechanics, stat pages, and skill explanations.
