Douluo Dalu
Tang Jia San Shao
Tang San spent his life in the Tang Outer Sect, dedicated to the creation and mastery of hidden weapons. After stealing the secret lore of the Inner Sect to reach the pinnacle of his art, his only way out was death. He throws himself from Hell's Peak and is reborn in the world of Douluo Dalu, a world where every person is born with a spirit — a manifestation of their soul — and those with powerful spirits can cultivate spirit power to become Spirit Masters. The spirit that awakens within Tang San is Blue Silver Grass, considered a useless trash spirit. Through relentless cultivation, hidden-weapon knowledge from his past life, and the pursuit of spirit rings and spirit bones, he seeks to overcome his trash-spirit origin, reach the high ranks of Spirit Masters, and bring the glory of the Tang Sect into this new world.
Progression: Douluo Dalu's progression is built on Spirit Master cultivation. Every person awakens a Spirit (Wu Hun) at age 6 — e.g., Blue Silver Grass, Clear Sky Hammer. Cultivation proceeds through explicit spirit power ranks (10 major tiers): Spirit Scholar (1-10), Spirit Master (11-20), Spirit Grandmaster (21-30), Spirit Elder (31-40), Spirit Ancestor (41-50), Spirit King (51-60), Spirit Emperor (61-70), Spirit Saint (71-80), Spirit Douluo (81-90, subdivided into Douluo/Titled Douluo at 91+), and God rank (100). Each 10 levels requires hunting a spirit beast to absorb a Spirit Ring, which grants a Spirit Ability; ring color denotes age/power (white 10yr, yellow 100yr, purple 1k, black 10k, red 100k, gold million-year). Additional advancement comes from Spirit Bones (rare drops granting abilities) and twin-spirit cultivation. Tang San's dual spirits (Blue Silver Grass + Clear Sky Hammer) and hidden-weapon arts provide layered progression, with each volume grouping (1-5, 6-10, etc.) marking major rank breakthroughs, academy trials (e.g., Shrek Academy), and sea-god trials.
