ImmovableMage

What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone — until he proves an utter failure at spellwork. Diagnosis: Major aspect impairment. No cure. Ever. Facing expulsion, Terry loses his Academy spot but finds a caring family. Resigned to explore mana cultivation, he never stops searching for compatible spellwork, day after day, season after season, until he finds the only spell he can cast — the beginning of a journey where even a narrow path of magic can lead to the territory of legends. Western fantasy with eastern cultivation elements, told across 4+ arcs of 30 chapters each.

Progression: Explicit, central mana-cultivation and spell-discovery progression drives every arc. Terry's permanent Major Aspect Impairment blocks all but one spell-type, forcing him onto a narrow cultivation path. Progression is measured via pillars of mana foundation (Western academy system fused with Eastern cultivation), daily mana cultivation, and the stepwise discovery and mastery of compatible spellwork around his single viable aspect. Each arc (Arc 1 Cultivating Perseverance, Arc 2 Undying Defiance, Arc 3 Unyielding Fury, Arc 4 Savage Hope, each 30 chapters) represents a tier of advancement, with growth gated by mana control, cultivation depth and spell compatibility rather than generic leveling. Advancement is explicit, incremental and foregrounded — Terry's cultivation breadth is narrow but deep, advancing toward legendary territory despite not becoming the strongest quickly.
