Reborn: Apocalypse
L.M. Kerr
From the author of the award-winning webnovel 'Reborn: Evolving From Nothing' comes the tale of Micheal Care, a swordsman that could only be considered a middling warrior in Humanity's Last Army. Humanity has fallen, killed by stronger races after being warped to the mystical 7 Layers — seven tiered realities humanity must ascend through to reach Heaven. Humanity's goal was simple: make it through all 7 Layers. Humanity failed. Micheal's memories are transported back into his past self via a magical Artifact. He is no chosen savior, no divinely picked hero — but he must catch up to the mightiest warriors of humanity, master new abilities, uncover secret organizations, and outwit deadly foes as he races to stop the Great Disaster and save the human race from ultimate destruction across the Second and Third Layers.
Progression: Explicit LitRPG + Layer Ascension progression verified via Goodreads descriptions. (1) The 7 Layers Ladder: Reality is divided into seven mystical Layers humanity must ascend through to reach Heaven; each Layer is a gated world with escalating power, factions and inheritance trials (Book 1: 'mystical 7 Layers'; Book 3: 'Upon arriving on the Second Layer'; Book 5: 'make their way across the Third Layer'). Progression requires ascending Layers, where previous actions butterfly-effect future Layers. (2) System & Abilities: Characters gain 'new powers', 'New Abilities', Soul King's Inheritance, and explicit Level-gated growth (series page tags LitRPG, Level x20). Micheal must 'catch up to the mightiest warriors of humanity and surpass them' by grinding abilities, secret techniques and solving Great Disaster events. (3) Inheritance & Power Tiers: Advancement via Soul King's Inheritance, World's Strongest trials, Assassinations of the Strongest Human (White Knight), faction wars and cultivation-like power scaling across Layers — each Layer's World Strongest battle determines fate.
