The Exiled Healer
Victor Molotov
Sometimes, dying on the job is just the beginning of a new shift. My name is Alexey Mechnikov — an ordinary doctor who died on the job and was reborn into a new world in the body of a young, half-educated healer. It is the nineteenth century, and this world is ruled by magic. Exiled from his family for his predecessor's misdeeds, Alexey must awaken his dormant magical gift and master the healing arts of this world — and advance them using medical knowledge from his past life. Step by step, patient by patient, he reshapes this world's understanding of medicine while uncovering the true reason for his exile. A Portal Progression Fantasy series.
Progression: Portal Progression Fantasy with medical/cultivation-like advancement via magical healing arts. Protagonist Alexey Mechnikov is reincarnated into a 19th-century magic-ruled world in the body of an exiled healer; progression is structured as awakening a dormant magical gift, then advancing through tiers of healing mastery — mastering local magical medicine, integrating modern medical knowledge (antiseptics, future discoveries), and ranking up through healer competency. Goodreads series subtitle explicitly labels 'A Portal Progression Fantasy Series' and descriptions emphasize 'awaken my magical gift,' 'master the healing arts,' 'step by step — reshape this world's very understanding of medicine,' and 'each breakthrough brings him closer to mastery,' indicating quantifiable, central advancement.
